The short version
Paint My House Auckland is an independent house painting service covering the wider Auckland region. Interiors, exteriors, whole-house repaints, and heritage villas, bungalows and weatherboard homes with lead paint. Tell us about your house, and we'll arrange for a painter who covers your suburb to come out, look at the job and give you a written estimate. Asking costs nothing, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Why preparation comes first
Most paint that peels, flakes or fades early fails because of what happened before it went on. Boards that weren't washed. Loose paint left on. Bare timber that never got primer. Fresh paint rolled over a damp wall. The paint itself is rarely the problem.
So the job starts with the house, not the colour chart: the state of the boards, the cracks and gaps, any rot, and what needs fixing before a single coat goes on.
Heritage homes and lead paint
Most Auckland villas, bungalows and weatherboard homes built before the 1980s have lead somewhere in their paint layers. It is safe while it stays put, and dangerous once it is sanded or scraped dry. Lead paint is tested first, then sealed or stripped using wet methods and full containment, the way the government's lead paint guidelines set out, with children and pets kept well away.

Common questions
Who paints my house?
The painter who covers your area quotes the job, does the work and is responsible for it. Some painters pay Paint My House Auckland for the enquiries we send them, which is how asking for a quote stays free for you. Before you agree to anything, get the quote in writing and ask about insurance and references.
Does a quote cost anything?
No. Asking for a quote is free, and you decide whether to go ahead. The painter will want to see the house, or at least clear photos, before giving you a firm price, because the preparation, the repairs and any lead paint change what the job involves and what it costs.
Do you have an office I can visit?
No. Paint My House Auckland is a mobile service, so the painter comes to your home to look at the job and quote. Everything else is arranged by email or over the phone, whichever suits you best once you have sent the form.
How do I contact you?
Email [email protected] with any question about a quote or about your details. Paint My House Auckland is operated by Paint My House Auckland. You can also ask us at any time to see or delete the details you sent through the form.
